Third Chart - More and more accurate, BUT... its a long way
Hi everyone, This is the first chart to get posted on the new charts website, I linked every song to its lyrics.
This week i intend to tell you about my shocking findings, Things getting out of hand, you have been fooled by every chart in the world !
this includes ours, so to make sure we do not fool you, here it goes...
In a weeks research, i found out that spots are occupied with songs in a very complicated pattern, Usually have to do with Airplay, what radio and where, For example if a DJ at a radio station in california likes a song, it climbs, if he gets sick for 3 days and someone replaces him, the song slips, and when he is back it climbs again.
Statistically this should not be correct, the world sample should cover this, unfortunately it does not ! i have a degree in statistics and this thing is very complicated for me, so i simply promise you to do my best for the most accurate chart i could, Simply there are 1000s of correlations weighing too little on there own, so there is not even a number one factor.
to tell you more, lets assume song X is only available online, Surely it will sell more online than those available at the store because the other is only bought online in certain circumstances, making the sales for second song the addition of online and offline sales, and the other the online sales, The online sales are easy to sum up, while store sales will only show up when all the stores run out of that copy (not totally but get rid of there stock) !
Picking a sample of clusters does not work, people n same areas buy same music, meaning you should not exclude, Has anyone ever asked you what is your favorite song today ? for most of you NO so basically they probably forgot to sample you right... Wrong, everyone including me is taking a rough estimate when it comes to many variables, if there was a budget for making a large scale statistic, you would be SHOCKED by how inaccurate the charts are.
Anyway here is this weeks work...
