- CHRIS BROWN : KISS KISS from album "EXCLUSIVE"
Just after the enterance of "With You" into the charts, the "Kiss Kiss" song was released. The song is featuring T-Pain. In October the song was available on iTunes for download, and after then became the first track on the Billboard Chart for three weeks. All in all, the album "Exclusive 2007" met the expectation os it's producers and was categorized as Plantium.

- JORDIN SPARKS : TATTOO from album "JORDIN SPARKS"
The American Idol winner released her second single in August 2007. The song's lyrics discuss a girl who is attached to a past relationship as if it's tattooed on her soul. Critics have agreed that Sparks had made the right choice, that the song goes well with her beautiful voice and marks as a good start for a young artist's career.

- J. HOLIDAY : SUFFOCATE from album "BACK OF MY LAC"
This is the first album for the R&B singer whois real name is Nahum. Being the third single of the album, Suffocate entered both the Radio hits countdown and the 100 hot Billboard where it reached number four.

- SOULJA BOY : CRANK DAT SOULJA BOY from album "SOULJABOYTELLEM.COM"
This is also the first album by the new Rapper Soulja Boy. Apparently this young artist has entered the right door of Rap industry. With this single staying at number 1 for three continous years on 100 Hot Billboard chart. Soulja Boy has performed this song live on 2007 MTV music awards. It's worth mentioning that the song has also been an international hit.

- SARA BAREILLES : LOVE SONG from album "LITTLE VOICE"
It seems that more and more new albums are making it through the music world. The first single of Bareilles debut album has made quite a good impact after being released as the free song of the week on iTunes four months ago, to be later one of the U.S Billboard songs. It seems that people appreciated the warm voice and the good lyrics, as some critics believe.

- FERGIE : CLUMSY from album "THE DUTCHESS"
So far the song has sold over one million copies, being the 5th single from the same album (which is her first solo album) to enter the charts worls wide. The video of the song has also been a major success, being watched over 7 million times on youtube. Currently the single is at number 3 position on the Australian, American, and British charts.

- KANYE WEST : STRONGER, FLASHING LIGHTS and GOOD LIFE from album "GRADUATION"
Well, I guess these three songs say it all. The Graduation album of West has been up to the international music taste. The album release date matched the same date of 50 Cent's Curtis, which forced both albums to compete. But still, the three songs above made it consecutively through the charts.

- ALICIA KEYS : LIKE YOU'LL NEVER SEE ME AGAIN and NO ONE from album "AS I AM"
The R&B singer's third album was released in November 2007. It was officially declared that "No One" has been the most successful song for Keys throughout her entire career, selling more than four million copies of the track. While "Like You'll Never See Me Again" was nominated for best Outstanding music video award of 2007.

- NICKELBACK : ROCKSTAR from album "ALL THE RIGHT REASONS"
The song found appeal for the lyrics, which tells the idea of people's expectations of a rock star life; wealth and happiness. The song is considered the 5th top song of the band's career right after "Far Away".

- BOW WOW & OMARION : GIRLFRIEND from album "FACE OFF"
Both the talented voices of the R&B Omarion and the Rapper BowWow have made a pretty well musical result. "Girlfriend" has instantly entered the Hot 100 Billboard and was steadily climbing the ladder since then. There has been also a remix version of the song, featuring Cassidy.

- KEYSHIA COLE : SHOULDA LET YOU GO from album "JUST LIKE YOU"
Being the second single of the second album for the R&B Keyshia Cole, the result of the video shoot made a better result that the release of the song alone. The video reached #2 on the U.S Countdown, but only stayed there for almost a week.

Okay, This Chart is a combination of a collection of charts all over the world. In it I've tried to sum up the best songs of 2006. Some might prefer one over other, but these were the most "listened to" songs through out the year. Now I'd like to also give top 5 songs of Urban music for the 2006 year.  This is also a chart that is close to what people most requested on mp3 websites and radio stations. Best songs over the year differ according to taste. Here, we've summed up the best pop, rock, and urban music for the whole year.

Hi everyone
It has been some time since any of us posted any charts....
Although we have (the statistical procedure) to making charts established, it is no easy thing to do beleve it...
Although we so use something like SPSS (minitab for windows), gathering the data, making every source into standard form (like the other data), assigning
weights that are not readily available, etc.. is tedious, and it really frustraits us knowing that all this work does not yeild a very accurate chart
(we think it is accurate compared to the rest).
As i tol you before, everyone else uses static sources like sales and radioplay, we don't we understand many people turn to the web for music for example!

Now to the charts !.... let me tell you a bit about this weeks chart before i start
The results were unexpected... at least to me, i expected to find ashley simpson somewhere with L.O.V.E, no sign of her on the charts, it did appear in some
charts that get generated along the way, no sign of it in the end result, while Pearl Jam's worldwide suicide got in already, how can that be, i don't
have the slightest idea, , Binaural there previous album did not climb close to this one in such time! anyway, i guess the rest of the album might hold more, also from a very very new album thats probably not out yet, there is a song, its a Red Hot song, yuo will see in a minute, let me not ruin the surprises

Third Chart - More and more accurate, BUT... its a long way

Hi everyone, This is the first chart to get posted on the new charts website, I linked every song to its lyrics.


This week i intend to tell you about my shocking findings, Things getting out of hand, you have been fooled by every chart in the world !


this includes ours, so to make sure we do not fool you, here it goes...


In a weeks research, i found out that spots are occupied with songs in a very complicated pattern, Usually have to do with Airplay, what radio and where, For example if a DJ at a radio station in california likes a song, it climbs, if he gets sick for 3 days and someone replaces him, the song slips, and when he is back it climbs again.


Statistically this should not be correct, the world sample should cover this, unfortunately it does not ! i have a degree in statistics and this thing is very complicated for me, so i simply promise you to do my best for the most accurate chart i could, Simply there are 1000s of correlations weighing too little on there own, so there is not even a number one factor.


to tell you more, lets assume song X is only available online, Surely it will sell more online than those available at the store because the other is only bought online in certain circumstances, making the sales for second song the addition of online and offline sales, and the other the online sales, The online sales are easy to sum up, while store sales will only show up when all the stores run out of that copy (not totally but get rid of there stock) !


Picking a sample of clusters does not work, people n same areas buy same music, meaning you should not exclude, Has anyone ever asked you what is your favorite song today ? for most of you NO so basically they probably forgot to sample you right... Wrong, everyone including me is taking a rough estimate when it comes to many variables, if there was a budget for making a large scale statistic, you would be SHOCKED by how inaccurate the charts are.

The second chart - A better chart every week, this time, a top 60

After finding out how inaccurate my chart was last week, i have worked on a better chart, and now, here it is !


This week i have compiled the first 60 songs, i also compared my charts to other charts and i can confidentially say that i truly believe my chart is the most accurate


I really put great effort to say the word accurate, yet i assure you there is no accurate chart, if you are turning to sales, well... many people get there music from other places, From the internet, People with common characteristics connect to the internet for music biasing the sample again, Radio play, same goes for that (people who call), so i guess we will have to do with approximation....


so what i did was, i spent the day rovering many many music sites looking for there popular searches, then comparing there traffic and assigning weight to each website, i checked other charts and made sure my charts sound sensible, i took statistical measures, and finally, i came up with this. Now that i know where to go on the internet for charts, i am thinking about starting my own charts website ! Leave a comment on that and tell me what you think about the idea.



Also, rather than what's hot, lets see who is hot, the names, and the number of times they appear on the top 60 with either there songs, or they have been featured.

The Pussycat Dolls are still showing how a lion is just another cat, what do you know about catpower, Nickelback is cooling down a bit, Beyonce still burns in her coolest state !

Anyway, How am i compiling you may ask ?

Simple, First i find my chart sources, then see what those charts cover of the world (how many people are the population of the sample that made that chart), so i pick the clusters on the map of the world, find there charts, and compile them into one by multiplying against weight factors, so i think this is the most accurate chart in the world !

Talking about a trademark, i think i am going to call this "the world top 29" since the charts are always multiples of 10, this one is multiple of what :S oh, nothing its a prime number 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, *(29)*
